"Celebrating National Science Day: The Legacy of CV Raman and the Power of Scientific Discovery"

Introduction:- Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, commonly known as C.V. Raman, was an Indian physicist who made significant contributions to the field of physics, particularly in the area of light scattering. He was born on November 7, 1888, in the city of Tiruchirappalli, in the southern state of Tamil Nadu in India. Education:- Raman earned a bachelor's degree in science from Presidency College, Chennai, and later received a master's degree from the University of Madras. He then went on to pursue a doctorate at the University of London, where he conducted research in the field of acoustics. Return India:- In 1921, Raman returned to India and joined the faculty at the University of Calcutta, where he began his groundbreaking research on the scattering of light. In 1928, he made the discovery that would ultimately win him the Nobel Prize in Physics: the Raman Effect. This effect occurs when a beam of light passes through a transparent material, and a small fraction of th...
